Iran is willing to restart nuclear talks with Washington as long as it is approached with "respect" and "honor", Iran's top diplomat has stated.

Abbas Araghchi stated solely negotiations worked, and shared new appeals had originated from intermediaries to resume talks with the Trump administration. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran had not yet reached a point to authorize the UN nuclear inspectorate to inspect struck enrichment centers for protective measures.

Walking a Challenging Course

The foreign minister is walking a complex route since Iran does not want be perceived to be acting from a stance of disadvantage, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged more resilient in military terms and emotionally from the Israeli-US attack on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a defense forum in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an inalienable right to enrich uranium domestically that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Earlier Discussions Suddenly Concluded

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, targeted Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that concluded with the American leader asserting the sites had been destroyed. Following this, Western states exercised their right to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.
