“That was unfortunate. It was essentially an exchange with our fans seated near me,” Jones explained during a radio appearance. “Present was a swarm of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was filled with excitement for the Cowboys.”
Jones additionally emphasized that the gesture was completely accidental, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just showed the wrong digit,” he remarked. “The action was accidentally done. This is sincere. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”
